Consultation & Collaboration
Southwest Urban Hydrology (SUH) provides assessment, design, and installation of practical methods aimed at conserving water and soil resources. SUH specializes in identifying Green Infrastructure solutions to watershed concerns such as stormwater pollution, excess runoff, urban heat island effect, habitat loss, etc. While urban watershed concerns are a focus, SUH is committed to correcting watershed degradation at any scale from backyards to backcountry. Previous clients include non-profits, public schools, municipalities, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, ranches, and homeowners.
Education & Training
Restoring the functionality of watersheds will take all of us. That is why SUH offers in-person or remote learning opportunities from 1-hour presentations to semester-long courses for any age or expertise. Training history includes service learning (e.g. building rain gardens with local youth), hands-on workshops (e.g. soil conservation with ranchers), and course development (e.g. Green Infrastructure for landscape architects and other professionals).
research & reporting
Adapting to a changing environment requires good monitoring and assessment of watershed variables. Whether measuring morphological changes in channels or fluctuations in soil moisture from passive stormwater catchment, SUH has the tools and expertise to evaluate watershed conditions.
